Not so healthy Health food.
“Waitress! I didn’t order the salted butter with a dash of broccoli!” At least that’s what I should have said the other night at Chili’s. Here I thought I was ordering something a little better for me that yucky old corn on the cob when I asked for “seasonal veggies” not knowing that what I was going to get was “overly seasoned veggies.” Those veggies had more salt on them than the fries!!!! Guess I wont be making that mistake again.
In other news… my experimental eating seems to have helped with my afternoon sleepiness.. I think. Another week should give me a better idea. Thanks to all of you who responded. As for it being a blood sugar issue? No… I can say without a doubt that it’s not a blood sugar crash. I have my monitor right there at my desk to test myself… and anytime I suspect a crash I check. I have had crashes in the past so I know how they feel… and yes sometimes they can make me very sleepy, but that’s only after it gets dangerously low…. like down in the 30’s. I tend to get jittery and hungry long before that. Except when I was taking insulin during my pregnancy which is when I was dropping into the 30’s. For the most part my numbers run high. So I’m always fighting that which is not easy. But with the weight loss my numbers are improving.
I’ll keep you all posted on how my experiment goes. Thanks for your advice/suggestions/and encouragement. (My daughter, who is supposed to be napping right now, is yelling to me that she wants to watch Icarly. It’s kind of distracting.)
I know what you mean about those naggy overly salted veggies from Chili’s. Even Applebee’s is like that as well. I am proud of you though for making better choices out at the restaurant! Keep on this path, you are doing so well!
That’s funny. I know I would like to be brave enough to give it back and ask for some without salt. I hope you figure out the afternoon sleepiness problem.
“seasonal veggies” “over-seasoned veggies” *chuckle* nice word-play…
glad to read ur numbers are improving!!!
keep up the good work girly
